Overview

On the weekend of January 24th Troop 255 will participate in a Lock-in at the Gaithersburg SportRock! We will leave CCES at 6:00 pm on the 24th and return around 9:00 am on the 25th. There is also an option to pay extra and have SportRock staff teach you the Climbing Merit Badge, see details below.

Food

Bring money or your own food for both Dinner and Breakfast! We will eat near the SportRock.

 

What to Bring

Bring an overnight bag containing the following:

  • Sleeping Bag
  • Sleeping Pad (if desired)
  • Pillow
  • Water bottle
  • Change of clothes
  • Toothbrush / Toiletry kit
  • Money for food
  • Anything that might make you more comfortable (think sleepover)

Schedule

5:45 p.m. - Meet at CCES

6:00 p.m. - Leave CCES

6:45 p.m. - arrive at the Sportrock

7:00 p.m. - eat dinner

8:00 p.m. - reservation starts at the Sportrock

7:00 a.m. - awake and packing up (Sportrock is pretty strict about this)

7:45 a.m. - leave the Sportrock

8:50 a..m. - arrive back at CCES for pickup

 

Climbing Merit Badge details

For the Climbing Merit Badge, it is only available to a minimum of  4 or max of 12 scouts.

Cost is an additional $60/Scout for those wishing to earn the badge - select the field for this when registering if you wish to earn the climbing merit badge.
 
For Climbing MB, start time is 6pm (two hours prior to the start of the lock-in), working separately with our trained and certified guides. This means you have to get to SportRock before the rest of the troop.
 
After learning and practicing all the skills, participants will rejoin the main group and complete their requisite climbs
