Shenandoah River Trip

Troop 255 will be canoeing and kayaking down the Shenandoah River near Luray, Virginia, adjacent to the George Washington National Forest.

Everyone must print, complete, and return to Mr. David Compton the waiver form in this link.

We’ll begin at our outfitters, where we will get equipment and be transported to our put-in point. We’ll travel about 12 miles down the river on Saturday, stopping for lunch, and ending at our overnight campsite. Our camping equipment will be prepositioned so that we do not have to carry it on the river.

On Sunday, we’ll travel another 7 miles down the river to our take-out point. Highlights include numerous Class I and Class II rapids, suitable for all skill levels, as well as the numerous scenic wonders of the Shenandoah.

Return: 3:30pm on Sunday at Chevy Chase Elementary
