Troop 255 will be canoeing and kayaking down the Shenandoah River on May 14th near Luray, Virginia, adjacent to the George Washington National Forest. We’ll begin at our outfitters, where we will get equipment and be transported to our put-in point. We’ll travel about 12 miles down the river on Saturday, stopping for lunch, and ending at our overnight campsite. Our camping equipment will be pre-positioned so that we do not have to carry it on the river. On Sunday, we’ll travel another 7 miles down the river to our take-out point. Highlights include numerous Class I and Class II rapids, suitable for all skill levels, as well as the numerous scenic wonders of the Shenandoah. It will cost around $100 per person and you must fill out the waiver that will be sent closer to the date. Be prepared to be wet!
