As follow-up to our Architecture merit badge session on Thursday, June 25th at 3 pm Mr. Mace and attendees will do a site visit to the Eccles-1951 renovation project

This is an awesome opportunity to see architecture, construction and some historic buildings on the National Mall.

This will complete the one requirement for the Architecture Merit Badge that we didn't cover last time. If Scouts complete the homework from our first class, then we should be able to complete the merit badge

Here are the homework assignments for Architecture merit badge:

Make a sketch of the building you most admire

Select a historical architectural achievement that has had a major impact on society and find out how this achievement has influenced the world today

Create a floor plan (sketch on paper or use free version of SketchUp)

Pick and research a career in architecture

For reference here is link to the Scouting America Architecture Merit Badge pamphlet

The maximum group we can take is 20 people (adults and kids counted). The scouts who attended the merit badge class get first preference, and then if we have space we can add others.

If a majority of the troop is not available, we will plan to reschedule in the fall.

Please enter full names of all attendees (scouts and adults) and ages of all scouts

Any adults that go will also need to sign an NDA/ waiver (no photographs/ social media posts).

The easiest way to get there will be to take Metro so we don't have to worry about parking - details to follow.
