2024 GAP Bike Trip

We will be riding on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), which is a rail-trail.  The trail surface is packed limestone gravel.  At times it is almost paved in quality. There are occasional road crossings but there is no vehicle access to most of the trail. This trail is magnificent during the Fall season when the air is crisp and the leaves on the trees are changing to red, orange, and yellow. The bike trip is a total of 56 miles, you do not need to do all 56 miles.

We will meet at Chevy Chase Elementary School at 6:30am on Saturday the 19th and return sometime around 12:30pm on the 20th. Please arrive on time. 

Bike drop off is the Friday prior to departure, 5 to 6 pm. Saturday lunch will be provided, consisting of bread, assorted lunch meats and cheeses, condiments, assorted chips, and halloween candy. Water and gatorade are also offered.
