Your Unit (Troop & Crew) Needs YOU for the upcoming Mulch Fund Raiser. And YOU Scouts need the fund raiser for cash for camp and The Campership Fund.*

  • ·       Tuesday January 23, 7:30-8:30 pm, Envelope Stuffing, Phillips Hall
  • ·       Sunday January 28, 9:00 am-3 pm, Flyer Distribution, Pierce Home
  • ·       Sunday April 8, 8 am – 1 pm, Mulch Delivery, Jane Lawton Community Center (aka Leland Center, 4310 Willow Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815)


OLDER SCOUTS: You are particularly needed April 8 for 2 reasons:

  • You are healthy, strong & tough, and not all Scouts and adults are.
  • Earn money for camp or contribute to the 255 Campership Fund.* 

EVERY HOUR COUNTS: Here is how it works. Every hour you work on Jan 23, Jan 28, and Apr 8 goes to your total to determine your cut - how much “cash for camp” you earn. Only Scouts can earn money. All profits go to the Scouts, and they are substantial. In years past Scouts earned over $20 per hour worked. You get the satisfaction of earning your own way & the gratitude of your parents for being self-sufficient.  (TIP: To maximize your earnings, come to each of the 3 events and don’t be late.) 

PARENTS: You are needed too. A few are needed on Jan 28 to shuttle Scouts to flyer distribution locations throughout Chevy Chase. ALL AVAILABLE PARENTS are needed Apr 8 to drive mulch bags to customers. While trucks/trailers/SUVs are the best, all vehicles are useful for transporting bags. 

* The Campership Fund: Mulch credits can be carried over year-to-year, but those not needed by a Scout can be donated to the 255 Campership Fund that helps offset the cost for other Scouts who might not otherwise be able to go to camp.
